Divisional Manager
Location: Field Based – National Travel
Salary: £50,000 + Annual Performance Bonus
Department: Field Operations
Reports to: Head of Operations
Contract: Full Time
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced operational leader to join SBFM as a Divisional Manager, taking responsibility for a significant part of our national field operation.
As one of two Divisional Managers nationally, you will have overall responsibility for approximately 2,500 sites, working closely with our Regional Managers to drive high standards across quality, compliance, training, service delivery and commercial performance.
This is a key role within our Field Operations structure, with the opportunity to make a real impact across a large and diverse operation.
You’ll set the standards for the division, provide leadership and direction to our Regional Managers, and make sure we have the right people, processes and support in place to deliver consistently strong operational performance.
A major part of the role will be leading mobilisations, transfers and operational projects, working closely with our transformation teams to ensure new and transferred sites reach full compliance within 30 days of go-live.
You’ll also play an important role in developing our people, building talent across the Regional Manager and Area Supervisor teams and helping to create a strong pipeline of future operational leaders.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the Regional Managers across your division, providing clear direction, support and accountability.
- Own divisional performance across quality, compliance, training, service delivery and commercial KPIs.
- Lead operational projects, mobilisations and transfers, ensuring sites achieve full compliance within agreed timescales.
- Drive consistent training and development standards across the division, including creating and refreshing training materials.
- Take ownership of the divisional budget, field management headcount and cost control.
- Lead succession planning and talent development across the Regional Manager and Area Supervisor population.
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational and client issues.
- Work closely with transformation, technical and maintenance teams to support successful operational delivery.
- Ensure audit, induction, training and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
- Champion SBFM’s values and culture across the division.
- Provide hands-on operational support where required, including site audits, inductions, training and deep clean projects.
What We're Looking For
This is a senior operational leadership position, so we’re looking for someone who is confident leading at scale, managing managers and making decisions across a geographically dispersed operation.
You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years’ senior operational leadership experience within a multi-site service environment.
- Experience leading managers across multiple regions.
- A strong track record of supporting large-scale mobilisations, TUPE transfers and contract onboarding.
- Experience recruiting, developing and performance-managing Regional and Area Managers.
- Experience of succession planning and developing operational talent.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and performance against KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Experience within facilities management, cleaning or another multi-site service environment would be highly desirable.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to take on a significant leadership position within SBFM and have a direct influence across a substantial part of our national operation.
You’ll have the autonomy to shape how the division operates, develop the next generation of operational leaders and work closely with senior leadership to drive improvements across our business.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your operational leadership career and feel you have the experience, drive and leadership skills to make an impact at divisional level, we’d love to hear from you.
