HR Business Partner

Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: SBFM Head Office, Colton
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our People Team and play a key role in supporting our Central Teams across SBFM.

This is more than a traditional HR Business Partnering role. It is an opportunity to help shape what strategic business partnering looks like at SBFM, working closely with senior stakeholders to align our people strategy with the wider business vision.

You will provide expert advice across the full range of people matters, combining strong commercial understanding with a pragmatic approach to employee relations, organisational change and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner with our Central Teams to deliver the people strategy and departmental people plans.
  • Support organisational design and structural change across the business.
  • Use people data and insight to support business decision-making and bids.
  • Lead workforce planning activity, identifying capability gaps and implementing effective solutions.
  • Support the appraisal process, including goal setting, talent reviews, performance improvement and development.
  • Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability, engagement and team effectiveness.
  • Lead and contribute to change, transformation and business improvement projects.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex Employee Relations cases.
  • Provide first-line support for Employment Tribunal claims and ACAS pre-claim conciliation, including assessing cases, drafting ET3 responses and negotiating COT3 settlements where required.
  • Lead confidential business change projects.
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies, processes and guidance, ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Lead on contract mobilisations and TUPE activity, supporting the wider operational team through large-scale change.
  • Support the review of documentation and data for DSARs.
  • Partner with Legal on complex employment matters.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across people-related activity.

About You

You will have proven experience in a Business Partnering role, with strong generalist HR expertise and experience providing advice and guidance within a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will also have:

  • Expert knowledge of employment law, including Employment Tribunals and TUPE.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic approach to complex situations.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong mediation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
  • CIPD qualification is desirable.

Why SBFM?

At SBFM, our people are at the heart of what we do. This is an opportunity to join a growing People Team and play a key role in shaping how we support our colleagues and the wider business.

If you are an experienced HR professional looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, influence change and help shape the future of People at SBFM, we would love to hear from you.
